Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 17, 2026
Study Planner ("we," "us," "our") provides createastudyplan.com, a
study-scheduling application (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy
explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices
you have.
1. Information We Collect
We keep the account information we collect to a minimum. We store:
- Your email address — used to create and authenticate your account, whether you sign up directly (via Amazon Cognito) or use "Sign in with Google." If you sign in with Google, we only use your email address for authentication; we do not store your Google profile name, picture, or other profile data.
- Course and study data you provide: classes, subjects, assignments, exams, syllabi you upload, study tasks, calendar events, and notes you enter into the Service.
- Content you submit to AI features: messages you send to the Course Agent, Preview Agent, or other in-app assistants, and any files or links you attach to them.
- YouTube links: when you paste a YouTube video link into the Service, or when the Course Agent searches YouTube on your behalf to find relevant training videos for a subject, we store the video link, title, and related metadata (via the YouTube Data API) so it can be listed as course content. We do not download, host, or store the video itself; clicking a video opens it directly on YouTube.
- Usage and device information: log data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, collected automatically to operate and secure the Service.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide, maintain, and personalize your study plan, calendar, and task lists.
- To power AI-assisted features (Plan, Preview, Practice, Prep, Teach) using Anthropic Claude models via Amazon Bedrock — your course content and prompts are sent to Bedrock to generate responses, session content, and study tasks.
- To perform web searches on your behalf, as a fallback source, when generating course content that isn't otherwise covered by material you've uploaded or our reference content — only the minimum needed to answer the request is sent, and search is not used to build a profile of you.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure (via Amazon Cognito and, if selected, Google Sign-In).
- To communicate with you about your account, such as confirmation codes and password resets.
- To monitor, debug, and improve the Service.
3. Google User Data
Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the
Google API Services User Data Policy,
including the Limited Use requirements. We only request the minimum
Google account scope needed for authentication (your email address) and
do not use Google user data for advertising, and do not sell it to
third parties. We use the YouTube Data API to search for and list
training videos relevant to your courses, and to display videos you
link yourself; opening a video takes you to YouTube directly. This use
is also subject to the
Google Privacy Policy
and the
YouTube Terms of Service.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:
- Service providers who process data on our behalf under contract, including Amazon Web Services (hosting, storage, authentication, and Amazon Bedrock for AI features) and Google (for Sign-In authentication and the YouTube Data API).
- Legal or safety reasons, if required by law or necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Study Planner, our users, or others.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account and course data for as long as your account is
active, or as needed to provide the Service. You can request deletion
of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 8).
6. Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted connections
(HTTPS), authenticated API access, and AWS Identity and Access
Management controls, to protect your information. No method of
transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee
absolute security.
7. Children's Privacy
Study Planner is intended for students, including those under 18, who
typically use the Service with a parent's, guardian's, or school's
permission. We do not knowingly collect more information from a child
than is reasonably necessary to provide the Service. If you are a
parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with
information you'd like removed, contact us using the details below.
8. Your Choices and Rights
- You can access, update, or delete your course data directly within the app.
- You can request a copy of your data, or full account deletion, by contacting us.
- You can disconnect Google Sign-In at any time from your Google Account permissions page.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update
the "Last updated" date above when we do. Material changes will be
communicated through the Service.
